The Master Plan is regarded as a vision of the DePaul campus of the future and as a guideline which will ensure that the vision becomes reality. The plan sets forth as a focus of shared aspirations for the entire university community.

For over a century, DePaul University’s development as an educational institution has been intertwined with the growth and expansion of the City of Chicago. DePaul’s mission – academic excellence, service to the community, access to education and respect for the individual – is fundamental to its relationship with the people of Chicago. Throughout its history, DePaul graduates have made significant contributions to the business, government, social, and political development of Chicago.

DePaul’s commitment to Chicago has always extended well beyond the classroom. From its beginnings on the north side of Chicago in 1898, to the more recent expansion in the South Loop, DePaul is committed to community responsibility and service. This is accomplished by establishing positive relationships with surrounding neighborhoods and enhancing the cultural, social and financial vitality of the community.

Under the leadership of IPM founder, Kenneth A. McHugh, DePaul University has an outstanding record of experience and success to the development of mixed-use and institutional projects. The university unquestionably been at the forefront of development throughout the City of Chicago and is able to contribute a tremendous level of knowledge to any project, particularly as it relates to building institutional quality student housing.
